Learn about resiliency during unprecedented times from Hiroshima atomic bomb survivor, Larry Miwa.
The Story:
Larry Miwa, a Hiroshima a-bomb survivor, worked with his son, Stephen and author Tom Coffman to publish his
family story in 2018, “Tadaima! I Am Home, a Transnational Family History” involving five generations of his Miwa
family. Larry’s journey as a peace advocate is tied to the rediscovery of his own diary in 2008, which he maintained
for two months in Hiroshima from July 4 to September 10, 1945. The diary documents his and his families survival
of the August 6 atomic bombing and his trek of annihilated Hiroshima City.
