ACR-Hawai‘i – Nominees for 2017 Officers and Directors
President (automatically elected): Lisa Nakao is the Director of Operations at Hawai‘i’s Better Business Bureau. She oversees all public services of the organization, including dispute resolution (conciliation, mediation and arbitration) for marketplace related issues, business / charity reviews and accreditation, advertising review, marketplace investigation, database management and consumer education. After graduating from high school in Japan, she obtained Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing and International Business from University of Hawai‘i.
President-Elect: Amrita Mallik currently serves as a Program Officer within the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at UH, where she helps the University address workplace conflict. She was a Senior Trial Attorney with the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She holds a B.A. from Brown University and a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
Vice President: Tom DiGrazia is a Peacemaker, Lawyer and Director of Mediation Center-Windward Oahu. He holds a JD from the University of Notre Dame Law School, and a MA in Political Science from Rutgers University. He is an Adjunct Professor at the Law School at UH, and the author of Peacemaker: A Sicilian American Memoir (2013) and Light on Peacemaking – A Guide to Appropriate Dispute Resolution and Mediating Family Conflict.
Secretary: Lynn P. Murison is Professional Standards Administrator for the Honolulu Board of REALTORS®. She is responsible for the administration of Ethics Complaints, Arbitration, Mediation and Ombudsman Programs. Over the years she has facilitated hundreds of mediations and ombudsman calls (mediation by phone) for the Board. She holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Communications from San Francisco State University.
Treasurer: Richard C. Mosher is of counsel at the law firm of Anderson Kill. He is a neutral for the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), the international branch of the American Arbitration Association, and is experienced in mediating and arbitrating international and domestic commercial, civil and other disputes. He holds a J. D. from Northwestern University School of Law, a B. A. from Augustana College.

Immediate Past President: Lisa Jacobs is a Mediator, Collaborative Attorney, Facilitator, Speaker, and Trainer, and owner of the firm, Better Way Divorce, also known as Pono Divorce, where she devotes 100% percent of her practice in helping families avoid court battles and create their own solutions. Lisa is also Co-Chair of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the Hawai‘i State Bar Association and a Mediator and Trainer at the Mediation Center of the Pacific. Lisa holds a J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law and a B.A. from Santa Clara University. Lisa practices Nonviolent, Compassionate Communication whenever possible.

Cecelia Chang is Director of the Center for Alternative Dispute Resolution for the Hawai‘i State Judiciary. She received her law degree from the William S. Richardson School of Law. Cecelia is a collaborator who welcomes input and is excited to be working together with the ADR Ohana to make alternative dispute resolution processes broadly available. Cecelia has trained at the Mediation Center of the Pacific.

Tricia Morris* is a full time mediator with a background in finance. She is also a financial consultant for parties using collaborative law to resolve disputes, helping them to clarify complex financial and difficult problems. She cares deeply about empowering her clients to work together to move beyond conflict and bring things back into balance. She is a volunteer mediator for Maui Mediation Services.

Katie Ranney is a freelance facilitator and communication consultant as well as Project Assistant for the ACCORD3.0 Network. She is a co-founder of the Hawai‘i Facilitators Network, which hosts expert speakers and conducts workshops monthly at UH Manoa. She was born and raised on Oahu, graduated summa cum laude at Santa Clara University, and earned a Masters Degree in Communication and a Graduate Certificate in Conflict Resolution from UH Manoa.
Jenna Saito is an ADR professional currently enrolled in the Graduate Certificate in Conflict Resolution at UH Manoa. She has received Advanced Mediation Training at the Mediation Center of the Pacific and is looking forward to getting more involved with the ADR community.
Anne Marie Smoke*, Appellate Mediation Program Administrator, came to the Center for Alternative Dispute Resolution from the Matsunaga Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution at UH Manoa, where she managed the Institute’s undergraduate and graduate certificate programs, and the Interdisciplinary Studies’ B.A. degree emphasis. She is an active mediator, facilitator, and trainer in conflict resolution.
Owen Tamamoto* recently retired from his position as Manager of the Office of Child Support Hearings, Department of the Attorney General, State of Hawai‘i. He has given numerous presentations on peace building, leadership, and conflict resolution for government and non-government organizations. He finds meaning and purpose in helping people to resolve conflict and serves as a volunteer mediator with the Mediation Center of the Pacific.

Frances I. Mossman*, JD, AICP, Sustainable Systems Dynamics, is a planner, mediator and ADR practitioner in Hawaii. She is a former member of the ACR National Board of Directors and former Chair of the Commercial Section. She is a former President of the ACR Hawai‘i Chapter.
