Transformative Dialogue is a unique way of working with communities experiencing conflict. Its goal is to change the quality of interactions between members in the community and help community members decide for themselves what to do about their situation. Organized by the Association for Conflict Resolution, this teleconference will explore the following questions: How is the process of a Transformative Dialogue defined? Is there a role for problem-solving in Transformative Dialogue? What does a Transformative Dialogue facilitator do that differs from others who facilitate community-based interventions? In what ways do participants’ roles change? What happens to the broader goals of peace and reconciliation? How can an intervener document the changes that result from a Transformative Dialogue? PRESENTERS Erik Cleven, Assistant Professor of International Relations at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire Judy Saul, ADR practitioner with almost three decades of experience in mediation, facilitation and training WHEN – Thursday, November 20, 2014 – 12:00pm – 1:00pm Eastern Time (7:00am – 8:00am Hawaii Time) For more information on how to participate in this teleconference click here
