As my mother used to tell me, ‘What doesn’t destroy you makes you stronger.’ This can be true in our own lives.” In this talk, learn how Restorative Justice offers some ways to make healing a reality in the aftermath of crime. Tim Hansen, LCSW, has worked with victims, offenders, and communities for over 30 years. He holds an MSW from UH-Manoa and a BA in Psychology and Speech/Theatre Arts from the University of Minnesota-Winona. He is Restorative Justice Program Manager at Hawai‘i County Office of the Prosecuting Attorney and has been adjunct faculty at UH-Hilo in the Sociology and Political Science Departments. As a survivor, Tim is passionate about the work of healing. Held monthly on Third Thursdays. Each month an invited speaker presents a different topic. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunch, enjoy an informal and educational talk-story session, and meet others interested in “Finding Solutions, Growing Peace.” Open to the public.
